The nuts and bolts of how it works here.

We don't have a lot of rules at ARCH recovery, but we do have some. We can't list every possible thing that will not be acceptable in a home like ours, but a good rule of thumb is, if a resident is behaving in a way that isn't helping him grow spiritually or in his sobriety, he is probably breaking a rule, because here growth is the rule. For one resident that might mean watching too much television. For every resident, that means pornography of any kind. Anything that distracts a resident from fulfilling his primary purpose, of spiritual growth towards a sober way of life, will be considered unacceptable.

Through private contributions, which we always need and welcome, we are able to keep our costs low. ARCH recovery was created to offer those suffering from chemical addiction a first rate level of care without creating the additional financial burden typical of private facilities. The board of directors of ARCH recovery works hard to make sure every man has an equal opportunity to recover from addiction. ARCH recovery is a non-profit organization and is registered with the State of Georgia.


Some of the ARCH recovery's requirements and expectations include that each resident:

  • Be male and at least 18 years of age.
  • Have an alcohol or drug dependency problem.
  • Have a desire to change and a willingness to commit to a minimum twelve-month stay.
  • Be able to take full and daily care of himself.
  • Be medically stable.
  • Obtain full-time employment (32+hrs per week) within three weeks.
  • Become self-supporting within 30 days.
  • Be willing to participate in a 12-step recovery program (including peer groups).
  • Be willing to contribute to the household through chores and light labor.
  • Go through a phone intake interview prior to admission.
  • Accept random drug and alcohol screening.
Additionally, any resident who participates in any of the following behaviors will be immediately dismissed from ARCH recovery:
  • Alcohol and/or drug use (including over-the-counter drugs not specifically authorized for the resident by the director).
  • Displays of inappropriate anger or rage.
  • Violence or threats of violence (including perceived threats of violence or intimidation).
  • Demonstration of an eating disorder.
  • Theft, illegal activities, or public behavior reflecting poorly on ARCH recovery.


Each resident must be willing and able to:

  • Pay a one-time $2475.00 intake processing fee (includes first 4 weeks of housing fees)
  • Pay $200.00 per week for housing fees (meals, activities, and outside medical & professional services¬† are not included in this fee)

Accompanied ground transportation to appointments outside the Statesboro, Georgia city limits are charged $185.00 plus $0.85 per mile.
